Mother's Day at the Lake

We decided to spend Mother's Day weekend at the lake this year and were so glad we did. The weather couldn't have been better, it was really nice. We were able to soak up some sun, swim, ride in the boat, and help the kids catch their first fish! They were so cute and so excited about the whole thing. Stephen got his first fishing pole for Christmas from an aunt and uncle and has been asking to go fishing for some time. I of course had to buy one for Langston too, only because I didn't want them fighting over the one rod. So we found her a really cute Barbie rod...it's super tacky, but she was so proud of it! Here are some pictures from our first time to fish!

Off to the bait shop to fill up our bug traps!

Look mom, I have Giminey's! We just recently watched Pinnocchio for the first time, so now we think all crickets are Giminey crickets.

Langston is checking her crickets out. I am actually surprised that she would even hold the canister after they were filled with live crickets, but she did really well with it!

Stephen and Langston were so excited when Doc started getting the rods ready for fishing! They kept picking up all of the lures and asking him what each one was and what the little bobbers did, it was really funny.

Stephen's first fish!

Waiting....and waiting...and waiting....

Langston traded the Barbie rod for a different one and a little help from Doc to catch her first fish!
