Beach Trip Part II

We've all had a great time at the beach. The kids have loved playing in the sand and swimming their little hearts out. Baby Carson and Nana even made their way down to the beach to watch us build castles and swim. It was a fun time, we were sad to leave. When we stopped at a gas station on the way home, Stephen said to me, "I miss the beach so much momma". Then he thought about it a bit more and later said he wanted to go back to the beach, but "I want to get my grandma, G, and bring her too". I thought that was sweet.

Beach Trip Part I

We're at the beach and loving it! The ride down actually wasn't that bad. You never know how kids will travel in the car, especially when you have 3 children under the age of 4...the youngest being only 7 weeks old! They rode quietly and happily....of course I owe that pleasure to Disney....thank you Walt (oh and thank you to whoever invented dvd players in the car!!). The weather has been great and we've enjoyed endless hours of sand castles on the beach and swimming in the pool. Yeah, just swimming in the pool, we're still a bit scared of the gulf...which is fine because the jellyfish have been hanging around this week. Stephen had bit of the fever virus and Langston apparently has an allergy to sunscreen....but other than that, we are having a great time.

Mudbugs & Choo Choos

Saturday the kids got to get good and dirty and catch some critters! Paul to them to meet up with their cousins, Austin & Mallory, to catch some crawdads and other mudbugs. They all took off into the water with small nets and caught critters. They got to see a turtle up close. Stephen apparently wasn't having much luck catching the critters and decided catching rocks was fun for him....and a bit more successful:) When a nearby train came rumbling by, Stephen was then mesmerized by it and decided watching for trains was more his gig. Wild Times!

Wow, how time has flown since my last post. I guess you can say we've been a bit busy around here! The better way to describe things is more like crazy!! Let me give you a few examples and you will see why I haven't had the opportunity to post anything new lately.....it seems that my 2 older children are quite fond of the time I spend feeding baby Carson. I believe they feel that is their time to express themselves through utter chaos and destruction. The other day I realized that things were a bit too quiet upstairs...never a good sign right! The answer to that is right!!! As I headed up the stairs, rounded the corner and opened Stephen's bedroom door, I just gasped. They had pulled off all the bedding on his bed and wadded it up in the corner, pulled the mattress off the bed and ripped apart the bed rail. Apparently it was more fun to jump off the box springs onto the mattress than just old fashioned jumping on the bed. Toys and clothes were everywhere, and then there was the bathroom. I found my 2 angels (ha ha) splish splashing in the water that was ALL over the floor. The sink was running, water and toilet paper where everywhere and there was a sticky film all over the counter and mirror. Upon further investigation I realized they had put soap all over everything, even themselves.....all to prevent the "skeeters" (mosquitos) from getting them or anything else for that matter. What a fun treat it was to clean that up!

Oh, it gets better.....just a reminder to you moms with young toddlers eager to express themselves artistically.....lock up all writing utensils, especially the permaent ones. Yes, my budding artists decided that our beautiful hardwoods needed a little color. I now have permanent blue ink swirls on the floor in my living room and office. I'm sure you can tell by my typing that I am oh so thrilled with it!!! Paul of course tried to see the silver lining in all of the destruction, saying that atleast they were getting along. True, but after thinking about this, I wondered....should I be concerned that when they get along it's usually focused on doing something they know they shouldn't do?! I only wish I had taken some pictures of all of this to share with you.

Okay, so now to recap the fun things we have been up to...Carson is growing so much right before our eyes. She's been a wonderful baby and has a sweet disposition about her. Langston is still VERY eager to get her hands on her and treat her like a baby doll. Carson really loves this!

Since I was going to be busy with the baby so much, I have tried to get fun activities for my kids to do this summer. Stephen got to go to Zoo Camp this year and loved it. Of course his favorite thing was riding the train! He also got to go to Vacation Bible School at our church and had a great time there.

Vacation Bible School Program

Both Stephen and Langston are going to Camp Canterbury 2 days a week and having fun with their friends. The ice cream man comes every tuesday and they have all kinds of fun things to do there. We had a great 4th of July at the lake with my family. The weather was nice and we got to swim and take the boat out and of course eat lots of food!! We are headed to the beach next week for a family vacation so I am sure I'll have lots of fun stories to share with you!
