Welcome Gustav!

Well, with Hurricane Gustav rearing its way towards the gulf, we decided to pack our family up and head the beach. Yep, you read correctly, we took off and spent a great week at the beach. Of course we did double check to make sure that we weren't going to get blown away by the storm before heading down there! The weather was great and the kids had a blast. The blue crabs were running so we got some nets and literally caught our dinner! It was so much fun. Stephen kept saying "go get us more Sebastians!" Can you tell we really like the movie 'The Little Mermaid'???

Stephen and Langston both finally warmed up the the gulf water and had fun playing and swimming in it. We took them out when the water was very calm and they just couldn't get enough of it.

I must say though, the most fun part of our trip was the ride home! HaHa! We did decide that it would be best if we left on Sunday instead of waiting until Monday. We weren't expecting extremely bad weather on Labor Day, but it was going to be rough and we just didn't want to drive home in it. So, we evacuated....along with about 2 million other people! When we reached the interstate it was at a dead stop. I knew we were in for a long ride....and we were! But we finally did make it home and we did have a great time!
